TOTAL FREAK OUT!

Today Grant had his 2nd b-day party. All went well. He was totally worn out of course and passed out right after everyone left. After that, the evening got more interesting. Here's the story...

I left for church at about 5:15 to work the nursery and Ben stayed home with Grant because he was fussy and worn out and needed a night at home. I got a phone call from a strange number as I'm walking into the church so I answered it and it was Ben. He says, "Liz, I went to take the trash out and Grant locked the door. He locked me out of the house and their is no other way in." He was panicked and calling from our neighbor's house. Grant was playing with Gina's camera and banging it against the wall so he was content. :) Not for long. I had to go open up the nursery and find someone to work for me. Meanwhile Ben is trying to get in the house with the assistance of our neighbor. He knew if things got bad he could break a window but he was trying to avoid that. So thirty minutes later I called back to see what kind of progress was made and they were having no luck. I put on my hazards and flew home hoping to not get stopped! When I got home Grant was very upset but was totally fine. Praise the Lord! Ben said he screamed half of the time but he calmed him down by singing to him through the door. Isn't that the sweetest? The camera was fine too so this story has a happy ending. So Grant is officially two now that he has locked us out of the house. It seems like you always hear these things about a two year old. I'm sure someday we will laugh about this and maybe even tell his future wife and kids about it. But for now we are just thankful he is okay. I will post some party pics as soon as we recover! Okay, so it is a little funny even now. :)
