Happy Birthday, Kamryn!

Today our sweet girl turned two years old! I don't think she quite understands what her birthday is but she sure loved all the attention. She walked around all day singing, "Happy Birthday to me...". She makes me laugh. We are having a family party for her later this month so we kept it low key today. Nana and Gigi came over after her nap to give her a few presents and we had cupcakes with our small group tonight. Everyone sang to her before we had the cupcakes and she was shy and hid her face.

The last three weeks have been quite eventful, which is why we planned her party for later in the month. On Easter Sunday, Kamryn woke up from her nap with a fever. We were pretty sure she had a virus that had been passed around the cousins so we waited a few days. The following Thursday she still had fever so I made an appointment at the doctor for Friday. They thought she had a virus so we waited a few more days. She still had fever the next Monday so we had some blood work done and started an antibiotic. She had fever on Saturday so we switched antibiotics and went in for a chest x-ray (she had a bad cough at this point). We finally found out that she did have pneumonia and switched her antibiotic again and added some more meds....whew that makes me tired just thinking about all of it. The pneumonia is gone now but she has still been having fever (everyday for three weeks now!). The doctor thinks she has an overreactive immune system. Sometimes after your body fights a big infection it has to reset itself (with the help of meds). So we are in the process of giving her more medicine and praying this works. Her poor little body has been through it! She has been great though. Just a little more sensitive than usual.

Today she has felt better than she has in weeks. Thank you, Jesus! Here are a few pictures of the birthday girl.

Dear Kamryn,

Today on your second birthday I want to tell you how much your Daddy and I love you. You are such a sweet and spunky little girl and we feel so blessed that God chose us to be your parents.

You are as laid back as can be yet you have a fiesty side as well...just ask Bubby (Grant). You are still an amazing sleeper, going to bed around 7:00 and sleeping straight through until about 8:00 am. You also take a two hour nap each day. At bed or naptime I just lay you in your bed and you grab the bumper pad tie, stick your fingers in your mouth and go to sleep.

You are starting to talk in short sentences now. You also know all the letters and their sounds, can count to 15 and can spell your name (minus the "r". Still can't say that one).

You are tee-teeing in the potty too. This all started at 19 months when you told me, "tee-tee, potty". I thought for sure you wouldn't know what to do but put you on the potty anyway and there you went. You have been going everyday since then.

I will never forget the day you were born and I pray you know how incredibly special you are. You have changed our lives forever, Baby Girl. Always remember that God has great plans for your life and He loves you more than we do.
