Father's Day Vacation

We spent a week in Estes Park, CO at the YMCA. To say we had fun is an understatement. We were all in our element there and had the greatest vacation. We went with 5 of my siblings and their families so that added to the excitement. Grant loved playing with all of his cousins. Growing up we spent a lot of time in Colorado in the summer so this is just my kind of vacation. Of course Ben loves the outdoors too and it seems we have passed that gene on to our kids. Grant was asking if we could stay there forever after the first hour of being there. I convinced him we needed to come back home to take care of our dogs. :) Each family stayed in their own little cabin but we were all close to each other so we could walk next door to someone's cabin. There was no tv and minimal cell coverage which was heavenly. We basically spent all week outside.

I also want to mention that we left for Colorado on Father's Day. That is special for a couple of reasons. My Dad spent every summer growing up with his family in Estes Park. This was one of his favorite places on earth. Also, it would have made him elated to know that almost all of his kids (Michael and Donnie couldn't make the trip) went there together. We have not attempted a family vacation all together because there are so many of us but this went so well we may have just started a new tradition! I'm not sure this was Ben's ideal Father's Day because he was hauling luggage around most of the day but I think the rest of the week made up for it.
