Here I am

I am alive! I have been super busy with one thing or another but I am back...at least for this one post. We are headed to Colorado on Sunday but I promise to come back soon. :)

So here is what we have been up to:

1)Right after Kamryn's birthday we were shocked with the news that my mom has breast cancer. Let me start by saying she is going to be fine but since I last posted she has had not one but two surgeries. They removed the mass but didn't get enough of the surrounding area (insert medical jargon here) so they had to go in a week later and try again. Second time around brought success. She is doing okay, still sore but we are thankful she will be good to go after 6 weeks of radiation. Praise God for that! More on this subject later.

2)Last week I turned the big 3-0! We stretched out the festivities as long as possible. Ben sent me to a spa with Mom and Ang for a facial and massage that really was heavenly. Gina rented us a limo to take us to lunch after the spa. Everyone at P.F.Chang's thought we were "American Idols". (Mom could not stop saying that everyone must think we are American Idols. Even to the point of asking if we thought all the AIs could fit in the limo. Sheesh, woman you are obsessed!). :) We also had a party where Ben surprised me with a video he made of people in my life telling me how much I mean to them. It was priceless and something I will cherish forever. I have to give a shout out to Jaron for filming and putting the video together. You are fabulous!

3)Then, of course we had the wedding of the century last weekend where Gina became Mrs. Allan Cox! It was incredible and I will be dedicating a post to that when we get back from vacation. I don't have any pictures of the actual wedding day yet. (What?!...I was busy doing my matron of honor duties).

We are headed out for a family vacation to the mountains of Colorado and some cooler weather. Praise Jesus! I hear the high is 78 right now and tonight it's 48. How 'bout that!

I will leave you with a Grant story that happened yesterday. He walked up behind me and touched my bottom and asked, "Why is this so big?" I, pretending not to know what he meant said, "Why is what so big?"

"This", he said, pointing again to my backside.

I tried to defend my big bottom but quickly realized the almost 4 year old had spoken and that was that!

I totally understand all of your business! Can't wait to see you when you get back from your fun trip. I think you have a great butt, and I doubt Ben has any complaints!

I can't believe that about your mom! I'm so glad she is ok. I am also SO SORRY that I had to miss your party. I've been meaning to send you an email forever now, but know that I was celebrating in my heart. Happy VERY Late birthday! Love you, girl.
