Dear Grant,
Yesterday you turned four and as always your birthday throws me into a state of reflection. It makes me think back to life before you were born. We prayed for so long for you to come along and when you finally did life was better than I could have imagined. When I held you for the first time I felt the joy return that had been missing for a while. I believe one reason that God gave you to me and your daddy is to renew our hope. And that you have done, precious boy.
Here are a few things about you as a new four year old:
- Your passion for life is over the top and I love that...most of the time!
- You have the ability to make me laugh at almost anytime. This is a good and bad thing. (Good for you, bad for me when you are in trouble).
- Your imagination has taken off and it often makes me wonder where you came up with that.
- You love to draw pictures...I think you have a gift in this area. Just so you know you didn't get that from me!
- You are shy in big groups especially when all the attention turns to you. And that you did get from me...sorry!
- You are so compassionate and have such a tender heart...another of your gifts.
Time is moving so quickly and I want to soak it all up. Don't ever forget that God has big plans for you. I love you more than words. Happy 4th birthday, Booger Bear!

I just can't believe how grown up Grant is! He is just adorable! I like the things you said about him-So very true-He is advanced :) I'll never forget the day he was born!! Wish we could have been there-would you move to Houston already?????

That boy is so precious. I still remember meeting you and Ben for the first time in cell group and it was the night you announced you were pregnant with him. Knowing Grant before I had my own little boy made me so excited to have one of my own. He is a special boy with a great calling on his life. I have loved watching him grow up.
